When out collecting litter they are finding ever increasing amounts of disposable masks. We can all help by using reusable masks however if you have disposable ones please dispose of them in the nearest bin.

 

Our town is being plagued by inconsiderate littering in our streets and by thoughtless flytipping outside charity shops some of which haven't even reopened yet. If the shop isn't open don't leave your donation outside. Other people often rifle through taking anything of value and leaving the charity with the cost of disposing of the remaining clutter.

The penalty for littering is only £100 it needs to be increased and the number of fines issued across the whole Borough was only 30 last year which is woeful.

 

We urge the Council to increase the fine to the current maximum of £150 and step up enforcement. We have been doing our bit and have organised a whole series of litter picks over the past months and have more in the pipeline.
