April Clark has been selected as Tonbridge and Malling Green Party's Parliamentary candidate for the 2019 General Election

An active member of the Tonbridge local community, April Clark has been selected as the Green Party candidate for Tonbridge for the general election.

April was recently elected to Tonbridge and Malling Borough council, alongside Mark Hood. They had the biggest green swing in the country. They are the first Green councillors in West Kent. They bring a new dynamic to the opposition group, holding the council to account and bringing real scrutiny to bear while representing the residents of Judd Ward with intelligence and empathy.

'I am proud to have been selected as the Parliamentary candidate for Tonbridge and Malling. Westminster Politicians have failed us all on Brexit, we need a People’s Vote to give power back to the people. We also need investment in our local communities to tackle the climate crisis and transform Britain to one that works for everyone”

April has lived in Tonbridge since 2008. She is an HR Director, and the former Vice Chair of a national disability charity. In 2015 she co-founded the South Tonbridge WI and she volunteers to support refugees as well as others in her local community.

She has regularly appeared as a Green campaigner and spokesperson on BBC Radio Kent and KMTV.
